Joel Embiid is strengthening his MVP case. According to David Purdum of ESPN, the Philadelphia 76ers’ center overtook LeBron James as the odds-on favorite to win the MVP award.
At this point, James is +25 behind Embiid, who is listed at +200 at Caesars Sportsbook by William Hill. The Cameroonian center is averaging 30.2 points, 11.6 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.7 blocks per game as the Sixers lead the Eastern Conference.
Meanwhile, LeBron is averaging 25.8 points, 8 rebounds and 7.8 assists per game for the third-placed Lakers in the West.
Embiid and James are followed by Nikola Jokic (+350), Luka Doncic (+1300), Stephen Curry (+1400) and Giannis Antetokounmpo (+1600).
