Kristaps Porzingis is working hard to return in form, after the meniscus tear he suffered during the 2019/2020 season restart in Orlando.

Rick Carlisle seems elated by the work the Latvian has put on after another tough injury setback. After the win over the Spurs on Wednesday, the veteran coach has been asked about Porzingis’ progress.

“He’s been busting his tail,” Carlisle told reporters following Wednesday’s 115-104 victory over the San Antonio Spurs. “He really has.”

The star big had one of his best performances since his return vs. San Antonio scoring 28 points shooting 11-out-of-17 from the field. He also made two of his five three-point attempts adding 14 rebounds and one assist.

Dallas won 10 of its last 12 games improving to a 19-16 record after a mediocre start in the 2020/21 season campaign. Porzingis played in nine of those 12 contests.

He has been shooting 50.4-percent from the field and 38.9-percent from deep scoring nearly 22 points per game. With Porzningis on the floor, the Mavericks are putting up 125 points per 100 possessions having a plus-6.0 net-rating during that 9-game span.
