As ESPN analyst and former NBA star Jalen Rose stated, on the NBA Draft night the Golden State Warriors assured that they will take LaMelo Ball as the number two pick.

However, this did not come true, since the Warriors changed their mind and chose James Wiseman instead. “The night of the draft, the Golden State Warriors told LaMelo Ball they were going to take him next, and they didn’t do it. That story going to come out soon,” Rose said on Jalen & Jacoby.

The video below adds credence to the story told by Rose. Melo is seen show number two with his fingers. In the end, he was drafted at number three by the Charlotte Hornets.

So far, the youngest of the Ball brothers is outperforming Wiseman in terms of individual statistics. He is averaging 15.8 points, 6 rebounds and 6.3 assists per game and is one of the top candidates to win the Rookie of the Year award. Meanwhile, the Warriors’ pick is averaging 11.8 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1 block per game.
