Pau Gasol opened up about his decision to return to Europe and sign with FC Barcelona for the remainder of the 2020/21 season.
Gasol, a European and NBA legend, made it clear he would return to Europe only for FC Barcelona.
“It all started with Juan Carlos Navarro, who is a good friend of mine and also coach of the youth team of the club. We had a conversation about the possibility of returning to Europe.
I told him I would return to Europe only (to play) for FC Barcelona. Then, I had a chat with head coach Sarunas Jasikevicius regarding my condition and how I would fit to the team.
I thought I would be able to help the club play even better and that’s why I came back. We will work really hard to accomplish our goals,” Gasol told reporters, via Eurohoops.net.
The two-time NBA champion underwent medical tests and is expected to make his debut with FC Barcelona soon.
