Warriors would reportedly not surrender Wolves’ 1st rounder or James Wiseman unless they receive back a generational talent

Golden State Warriors are looking into ways to improve the team ahead of the 2021 NBA trade deadline. So, it’s pretty clear that the Warriors would like to add talent, however they are not ready to surrender high-valued assets unless they get someone special in exchange.

The Warriors are not ready to discuss a trade that will include anyone from Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green. At the top of the untouchable trio, the franchise will not ship James Wiseman or the 2021 Wolves’ pick for nothing less than a generational talent.

(via Connor Letourneau of San Francisco Chronicle):

“According to a team source, the Warriors ‘almost definitely’ wouldn’t surrender that Timberwolves selection or Wiseman unless they got back someone generational such as Joel Embiid or Giannis Antetokounmpo.”

The Warriors came back from a horrible 2019/2020 season, where they ended up with the worst record in the NBA (15-50). This season, they came back stronger being in the play-in tournament places and close enough to the Top-6 of the West for the first part of the season.
