According to Marc Stein of the New York Times, the Los Angeles Lakers are optimistic that they will get a strong consideration from star big man Andre Drummond if he leaves the Cleveland Cavaliers via a buyout.

The Cavaliers’ preference remains trading Drummond elsewhere before the March 25 trade deadline.

The 27-year-old is averaging 17.5 points, 13.5 rebounds, 1.2 blocks and 1.6 steals through 25 games for Cleveland this season.
