The New Orleans Pelicans young star Zion Williamson not only was selected to his first NBA All-Star Game this year, but he also was picked to start instead of Joel Embiid, who had to miss the game due health and safety protocols.

He played 14 minutes for Team Durant. During that time, he had 10 points and one rebound. After the game, Williamson talked about his experience of starting the All-Star Game. “It meant a lot,” Zion said.

“It happened for certain reasons obviously because few players weren’t here. It’s still an honor. The coach selected me to be the starter. Like I said, man, I enjoy those moments. I’ll go celebrate with my family.”
