Daniel Snyder, Like Kevin Durant, Uses Burners Accounts To Defend Himself Against Criticism, Per Report

The Washington Football Team owner, Daniel Snyder, is currently waiting for the NFL to make its decision. As a result of their investigation into the culture within the organization and his involvement in the matter. However, Synder could be using bots and burner accounts to defend himself.

According to Michael Phillips of the Richmond Times-Dispatch via Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio, somebody has been buying Facebook ads that promote a story about Snyder’s charity activities. The article appears on NYCTalk.org, an up-to-date website that (among others) is currently asking the question. “What’s for Dinner this Valentine’s Day in NYC?” Then there are the bots on Twitter.

“A number of new users also appeared on Twitter — all female, all accounts created in October 2020, that have been tweeting out praise of Snyder’s efforts over the past week. The accounts appear to be ‘bots,’ which means they don’t represent actual people.”

If true, it seems Daniel Snyder or someone working on his behalf is taking a page out of Washington Football Team fan Kevin Durant. Durant, in the past, has used fake accounts to defend himself on Twitter, according to James Dator of SBNation. Durant has also been accused of using a fake Instagram as well.

Kevin Durant, during his appearance on All The Smoke with Stephen Jackson and Matt Barnes in 2020, shared that he will continue to have burner accounts.

“I’m still going to do the burner thing,” Durant said. “There’s some s— where you’ve just got to be like, these folks are always going to figure out away. Certain people, I’m going to come back on my regular account,” said Durant, via Dan Gartland of SI. “But if I’m just trying to do my thing, dip in—I got the burners. I just slipped up that one time, and you know why I slipped up.”

We will have to wait to see what Beth Wilkinson, who is the investigator that the NFL hired to handle this situation, finds or doesn’t find.
