Hawks’ John Collins sees potential fit with Wolves’ Karl-Anthony Towns, per report

John Collins has yet to sign a contract extension with the Atlanta Hawks. In that case, he’ll enter the free agency market next summer as a restricted free agent.

According to a recent report, Collins’ camp seems to see a great fit for the young forward with the Minnesota Timberwolves superstar Karl-Anthony Towns, per Darren Wolfson.

I will say though, from some correspondence with somebody closed to Collins, that that camp views this situation, the idea of Collins playing next to KAT as favorable.

Here, he’d have the chance to play with a dynamic big man like KAT, somebody with KAT’s skillset, that’s very enticing for Collins.

Minnesota is desperate to find an upgrade alongside KAT, as the team has been constantly on a slump this season having the worst record (7-29) in the NBA so far.

Collins is certainly a great potential addition for any team as he averages 18.0 points on 53.6 percent from the field and 37.4 percent from deep along with 7.6 rebounds and 1.4 assists.

The Hawks are not willing to offer the max to Collins, so the versatile big could definitely attract interest in the 2021 free agency.
