Hawks share update on De’Andre Hunter’s knee rehab

De’Andre Hunter of the Atlanta Hawks is expected to rub up his rehab process from a knee surgery. The Hawks will be able to give a full update of Hunter’s potential return in two weeks.

The team announced Friday that Hunter has been cleared to do unrestricted weight room work and progressive on-court drills. His condition will be reviewed again on March 19.

Hunter underwent a knee surgery on Feb.8. With Hunter’s two-way skills unavailable, the Hawks’ season derailed, as the team win just 5 of its next 13 games.

That resulted in head coach Lloyd Pierce parting ways with the franchise, which upgraded Nate McMillan in the head coach position.

Hunter averages 17.2 points shooting 51.4-percent from the field and 36.6-percent from deep. The Hawks were on +5.3 whenever Hunter was on the floor through the first 17 games this season.
