NBA executives expect P.J. Tucker to end up with 76ers

The Eastern Conference-leading Philadelphia 76ers are expected to make moves at the trade deadline or in the buyout market to bolster their bench.

Several rival executives expect Houston Rockets veteran forward P.J. Tucker to eventually end up in Philadelphia, whether in a buyout or a trade that nets the Rockets a second-round pick, according to truehoop.com.

Tucker, 35, is in the last year of his four-year deal, so he would be a rental for the 76ers’ playoff push this season.

Tucker has spent the last three-plus seasons with the Rockets and has a relationship with former Rockets general manager and current 76ers president Daryl Morey.

This season, Tucker is averaging 4.4 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game in 30.0 minutes per game.

Despite the low numbers, Tucker is still capable of being a solid, tough defensive presence off the bench and reliable three-point shooter, knocking down his patented corner three-pointer.
