Dennis Schroder echoed the sentiments of head coach Frank Vogel, saying the Los Angeles Lakers did a great job against the Sacramento Kings, despite losing the game. The 27-year-old German point guard was proud of the effort his teammates put.

“We just played basketball, had fun, moved the ball great in the first quarter. Got off on a hot start I believe. We played great defense as well,” Schroder said postgame.

“But the then in the second quarter we didn’t play right. Turnovers, on my end as well. But I think we fought. Next man up mentality. I think we did a great job just competing out there. I think overall we did a great job.

“Even the people who came off the bench. Credit to them for being ready. Dudz [Jared Dudley] I think two times in a row getting steals for easy layup. McKinnie was ready to play so credit to the whole group. I’m mad we didn’t win. But we’re going to look at film, come back and then we’re gonna be ready for the second half of the season.”
