When it comes to MVP race, the name of Kawhi Leonard gets often overlooked. According to his teammate Paul George, the Los Angeles Clippers superstar deserves more recognition for what he is doing for the team.

“I don’t know whether he’s not flashy to people, but he’s effective when you talk about a guy that goes on the floor and is a 100% committed to winning and winning at all cost,” George said. “You got to take that into account. The MVP is about the most valuable player. And this team wouldn’t be where we are at without Kawhi on that floor. Again, it’s surprised me tonight. I know he had 30.

“He’s just super reliable, super effective. It’s almost calming having him on the floor knowing whenever things get rocky, teams make runs, he’s the guy that kind of just settles things and kind of on his own he just slows the game down. He does a really good job which is controlling the game.

“I don’t know if this roster is the reason why he’s not getting the votes or why he’s not getting recognition. There’s a lot of guys ahead of him that have pretty good rosters as well. Hopefully, his resume over this year the media, voters whoever makes that call they take that into account.”

This season, Leonard is averaging 26.8 points, 6.3 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game. The Clippers are currently third in the Western Conference with 24 wins and 12 losses. Above them are the Lakers (24-11) and the Jazz (27-8).
