Denver Nuggets were able to secure another close victory Monday vs. Chicago thanks to Nikola Jokic’s dominant play in the fourth quarter.

Jokic dropped 39 points, on 17-of-28 shooting, along with 14 rebounds and nine assists to carry his team. After the game, coach Mike Malone compared Jokic to Tim Duncan referring to how humble he is.

“I’m not saying he’s Tim Duncan,” Malone said, per The Denver Post. “Tim Duncan is arguably the greatest power forward to ever play the game. All I’m saying is that Tim Duncan was a world champion, and he was probably the most humble guy that you ever saw.”

Jokic is averaging career-highs in almost every statistical category this season being among the candidates for the MVP award so far.

He’s averaging 26.7 points, 10.9 rebounds, 8.5 assists shooting 42.1 percent from the three-point range. The Nuggets have a 19-15 record heading into the All-Star Break.
