Veteran Carmelo Anthony dropped 29 points as the Portland Trail Blazers made three-point history against the Charlotte Hornets, who got 30 points from rookie sensation LaMelo Ball.

“LaMelo is gonna be in this game for a long time,” Carmelo Anthony said in the postgame interview.

Melo and LaMelo traded jerseys after and were asked about their shared nickname. Anthony gave his blessing and said he was happy a young NBA player is carrying on the legacy. The pair performed a jersey swap after the Blazers win.

Anthony posted 29 points (10-19 FG, 6-10 3Pt, 3-3 FT), three rebounds, two assists, and two blocks in 32 minutes during Monday’s 123-111 win over the Hornets.

Meanwhile, Ball totaled 30 points (10-18 FG, 5-7 3Pt, 5-6 FT), eight assists, six rebounds, and four steals across 32 minutes in a loss for the Blazers.
