Gregg Popovich was not happy to see the Atlanta Hawks part ways with head coach Lloyd Pierce.
Popovich, the legendary head coach of the San Antonio Spurs, said the Hawks will regret firing Lloyd Pierce.
“We all know it is a volatile environment and that sort of thing, but you don’t want to miss on people like him. It’s like missing on a really good player in the draft or evaluating somebody wrongly. He is the kind of guy you can build a culture around,” Popovich said, via Tom Orsborn of the San Antonio Express.
With Pierce in charge, the Hawks were 11th in the Eastern Conference, with a 14-20 record.
