Zion Williamson after Pelicans loss to Spurs: “We’re almost there”

After another heart-breaking defeat to the San Antonio Spurs, the Pelicans reached their 19th loss this season with many of them coming in close-fought games.

Zion Williamson believes that his team is close to figure out the way to win consistently expressing his belief that New Orleans needs to iron out some parts of the game to turn the corner.

(via Andrew Lopez):

“I’ll say this… I feel like we’re almost there. There’s some small things we have to figure out. But we’re almost there. If we figure those small things out, we’ll be there.”

Williamson is certainly doing his part this season, however, the Pelicans have it tough so far being outside the Western Conference’s playoff picture.

During the latest outing against the Spurs, the first time All-Star had 23 points and 13 rebounds to go along with five assists.

However, his effort and Brandon Ingram’s 29-point performance were not enough to defeat the undermanned San Antonio Spurs.
