The Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James is one of the favorites to win the regular season MVP award this year. However, according to his teammate Anthony Davis, that is not his main goal. AD says that LeBron cares about winning championships more than any MVP award.
“Put it to you like this,” Davis said to The Athletic via HoopsHype. “I know that that man does not care about MVP awards. He cares about championships.
So if he loses the MVP and wins the championship like he did last year, he doesn’t care. So that’s what his mindset is, he’s not focused on MVPs. He’s focused on Finals MVPs.”
Last year, when Giannis Antetokounmpo was named the MVP for the second straight season, James was openly unhappy with the result. This year, LeBron is chasing his fifth championship.
