The NBA All-Star reserves have reportedly been named for the Western and Eastern Conference, according to Shams Charania.

All-Star reserves were selected by the league’s head coaches.

West reserves:

  • Chris Paul, Phoenix Suns
  • Paul George, Los Angeles Clippers
  • Damian Lillard, Portland Trail Blazers
  • Donovan Mitchell, Utah Jazz
  • Rudy Gobert, Jazz
  • Zion Williamson, New Orleans Pelicans
  • Anthony Davis, Los Angeles Lakers

East reserves:

  • James Harden, Brooklyn Nets
  • Julius Randle, New York Knicks
  • Jayson Tatum, Boston Celtics
  • Jaylen Brown, Celtics
  • Zach LaVine, Chicago Bulls
  • Ben Simmons, Philadelphia 76ers
  • Nikola Vucevic, Orlando Magic

The West will likely need a replacement for Anthony Davis who is currently out with a calf strain and aggravation of the Achilles tendinosis in his right leg.

Some notable All-Star Game snubs in the Western Conference include Devin Booker, Brandon Ingram, Mike Conley, DeMar DeRozan, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and De’Aaron Fox.

Snubs in the Eastern Conference include Trae Young, Domantas Sabonis, Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo, Khris Middleton, Tobias Harris, Fred VanVleet, Gordon Hayward and Jerami Grant.

With the talent level so deep in today’s NBA, there was going to be several star caliber players who wouldn’t make the All-Star teams.

In a 30-team NBA with 17-player rosters and only 12 spots for each conference, it raises the question of possibly expanding All-Star rosters in the future.
