Coming off the shortest offseason in NBA history, LeBron James is having to play big minutes with Anthony Davis being out with injury. The 36-year-old superstar most recently played 43 minutes in the Lakers’ overtime loss to the Wizards. Following the defeat, head coach Frank Vogel was asked whether he intends to play James in all 72 regular season games.

“We’ll see,” Vogel said. “We’ll continue to evaluate a game to game. Meet with the medical staff, meet with LeBron see how he’s feeling, see what the load looks like and make those decision game to game.” The four-time champion himself says he will not be taking any time off.

Vogel was also asked how James has managed his workload with the absence of Davis. “He’s a workhorse. He’s doing everything he can for us,” he responded.

In 32 regular season games so far, LeBron is averaging 35 minutes per game. During that time on the court, he averages 25.8 points, 8.2 rebounds and 8.1 assists.
