New Timberwolves’ HC Chris Finch says team is not ‘a million miles away’ from winning

Chris Finch offered a glimpse of his plan as the new head coach of the Minnesota Timberwolves. The former Raptors’ assistant coach stepped in on Monday replacing Ryan Sanders as the team’s new head coach.

Finch explained Minnesota is not far from establishing a winning culture as an organization, however becoming a winning team in the NBA is a tough process.

“It’s a young roster at the right time, and we can establish an identity,” said Finch. “It’s a hard league to win in, but we’re not a million miles away.”

The newly hired coach express the will to build his gameplan around superstar center Karl-Anthony Towns explaining that ‘you don’t often get that type of skill package’.

“It’s a tough moment for anyone when there’s a change in the organization but we talked about how we can get him back to being the centerpoint of this team,” Finch said.

The Wolves are on the bottom of the NBA standings having a 7-24 record heading to the All-Star break.
