Seattle has been left out of the NBA map since 2008 when the SuperSonics left the city and became the Oklahoma City Thunder. Last month, NBA commissioner Adam Silver hinted that the league is considering expansion at some point in future. According to Mark Cuban, owner of the Dallas Mavericks, the NBA should return to Seattle.

“A lot of corporate sponsorship and a lot of great fans,” Cuban said on ONE37 PM per Landon Buford. “A lot of people that miss the NBA, so we are missing a lot by not being there.

Oklahoma City has been a great market I can’t take anything from them. And I am not saying anything that I have not already said before, but I think there is a future where Seattle has a team. I just don’t know when.”

The SuperSonics won one championship in 1979 and three Conference titles in 1978, 1979 and 1996.
