Pistons’ Delon Wright out two weeks

Detroit Pistons guard Delon Wright suffered a Grade 2 right groin strain and will be reevaluated in two weeks, according to James Edwards III of The Athletic.

Wright suffered the injury against the Memphis Grizzlies on Feb. 19.

“He said he didn’t remember exactly how he did it, that was the scary part,” said head coach Dwane Casey. “He was just getting back in transition and felt it.”

Wright, 28, is having a career-year, averaging 10.7 points, 4.6 rebounds, 4.9 assists and 1.4 steals per game in 29 games.

With Wright out for the foreseeable future, Dennis Smith Jr., who the Pistons acquired from the New York Knicks in exchange for Derrick Rose, will likely see an increase in minutes as the starting point guard.
