Despite not having Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, the Brooklyn Nets were able to end a six-game winning streak of the Phoenix Suns by defeating them 128-124 at Talking Stick Resort Arena.

James Harden, who led all scorers with 38 points, was happy with the win, especially since it was achieved without two superstars.

According to him, it shows the potential that Brooklyn has. “The way we’re playing and the potential we have as a team is what I’m excited about,” Harden said per Brian Lewis of New York Post. “Coming into Phoenix and they’d won six in a row, we’re down two of our best players and we come in and win after being down [21] at half? That’s exciting.

“We could’ve easily gave up … but we didn’t give up, and we won. So that’s exciting. Now we’ve just got to continue to build. Hopefully we get KD and Ky back next game, and just keep this train rolling.”

The Nets are chasing the Philadelphia 76ers as the top team in the Eastern Conference. With 18 wins and 12 losses Brooklyn sits in second place, whereas the Sixers lead the East with a 19-10 record.
