Julius Randle says he wants to compete for championships with the Knicks

The Knicks’ forward Julius Randle wants to stay in New York for the long term and win championships with the organization.

Randle talked to Sopan Deb of the New York Times about his aspirations as a member of the Knicks’ organization in the midst of a career-season with the franchise.

“I knew where we were starting at,” Randle aid. “I knew the challenge I had when I signed here. I signed here with the hopes of being here long-term.

I want to be one of the guys that’s part of this team and eventually, hopefully, we are competing for championships and winning championships. That’s my dream. A picture perfect thing for me.”

The sixth-year forward averages career highs in points, rebounds and three-point shooting in 29 games this season, registering 23.1 points, 11.0 rebounds and 5.6 assists.

He combined these incredible numbers with averages of 47.6 percent from the field and 40.6 percent from three. The Knicks are on a 14-15 record ranked as sixth best in the East.
