Cleveland Cavaliers forward Kevin Love is close to his return on the court as he participated in the team’s latest practice, after missing the first part of the season with a calf injury.

Love has been out since Dec. 27, when he aggravated a calf strain he suffered during the preseason opener. The Cavs’ superstar slowly progresses to a potential return.

“Hopefully that’s a good sign,” JB Bickerstaff said, per Associated Press. “Obviously you wait and see how he responds tomorrow, but he’s making progress and he was with us for most of the day.”

The slumping Cavaliers dropped 10 of the last 11 games, after having a promising start in the 2020/21 season campaign. Love could provide a boost to the Cavs, who dropped the last eight.

Last season, Love averaged 17.6 points and 9.8 rebounds per contest shooting 45 percent from the field and 37 percent from deep in 56 games.

He played in just two games this season before got sidelined with a calf injury.
