In a night where the Boston Celtics are going to face one of the most dominant post player in the league, their starting center will be unavailable.

Daniel Theis has been ruled out of Tuesday’s matchup against the Denver Nuggets due to a a sprained finger. Theis suffered the injury during Sunday’s loss vs. Washington.

Without Theis, the Celtics will counter Nikola Jokic with Tristan Thompson and Robert Williams, who returned vs. the Wizards after missing the previous two games due to a hip injury.

Grant Williams could also receive minutes in the center position, however Theis’ toughness in the post will be missed, especially against Nikola Jokic.

Jokic averages 26.5 points, 11.5 rebounds, 8.7 assists, 1.5 steals and 0.7 blocked shots in 35.8 minutes per game beaing an early candidate for the MVP award this season.
