Four San Antonio Spurs players have tested positive for COVID-19 and the NBA is postponing their next three games, according to Adrian Wojnarowski.
The Charlotte Hornets, who played the Spurs on Feb. 14, are undergoing contact tracing and will also have their next two games postponed.
The Spurs have remained quarantined in Charlotte since the game on Feb. 14, adds Wojnarowski.
The games are being postponed “in order to ensure the health and safety of players on both teams,” the league announced in a statement.
The Spurs already had their Tuesday game against the Detroit Pistons postponed and the other postponements include games against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Feb. 17, New York Knicks on Feb. 20 and Indiana Pacers on Feb. 22.
Feb. 24 would be the earliest that the Spurs could resume playing, when they travel to Oklahoma City to play the Thunder.
For the Hornets, their two postponements include games against the Chicago Bulls on Feb. 17 and Denver Nuggets on Feb. 19.
The earliest that the Hornets could be cleared to play next is Feb. 20 against the Golden State Warriors.
After all these new postponements, there have now been 30 postponed games in the first half of the season.
