Kobe Bryant ‘loved the idea of the Lakers trading for Derrick Rose’, says NBA Insider

The late Kobe Bryant was in favor of the Los Angeles Lakers trading for Derrick Rose.

Bryant, who died in a helicopter crash on January 26, 2020, had urged the Lakers to trade for the 2011 NBA MVP.

“Before the helicopter crash, that was the only time I have ever heard — and I’m sure it happened more than I ever heard about — but this was the only time I ever heard Kobe make a little suggestion to the Lakers brass.

He loved the idea of the Lakers trading for Derrick Rose or going to get him somehow,” ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne said on the Hoop Collective podcast, via Lakers Daily.

Derrick Rose played for the Detroit Pistons for almost one and a half seasons, before joining the New York Knicks last week.
