Ricky Rubio credits Anthony Edwards for uplifting his spirit after his best game this season

It has been a slow start of the season for the Minnesota Timberwolves. After 27 games, the team has the worst record in the league with seven wins and 20 losses.

One of the those wins came recently against the Toronto Raptors. It was also the best game of the season for Ricky Rubio, who had 16 points in 30 minutes. After the game, the Spaniard credited rookie Anthony Edwards for uplifting his spirit when he was going through a tough period.

“I think it was more like the young guys like Ant [Anthony Edwards] really keeping the spirit up. He really helped me pushing me to really get the best out of me. That’s how we help each other.

This is a team and when things are not going our way, that’s why we have each other’s back. I think me and him have been building good chemistry.

“Like I said, it takes time, it doesn’t come overnight. It takes travelling… Like I said before it’s hard this year. There’s a lot of… you can’t go out to dinner with your teammates and build chemistry that way. You have to find another way.

I think it’s coming along. Of course this month of February where we travel so much it helps us being on the plane, being in some of the meetings before and the stuff building that.”
