The Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James is in his 18th year in the NBA and he is still an MVP candidate at the of 26. The four-time NBA champion is displaying an exceptional longevity.

Most debates on who the greatest player of all time is include James and Michael Jordan. While LeBron won’t be able to beat Jordan’s perfect Final record, he can still take other records.

One of them is scoring. Currently, James is in third place with 34,955 points. He has already passed Kobe Bryant (33,643 career points) at number 4 and Michael Jordan (32,292 career points) at number 5

LeBron’s goal, according to sports analyst Chris Broussard, is to take over the all-time scoring leader Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, who racked 38,387 career points. In order to do that, The King has to play big minutes and accumulate stats.

“Championships are first for LeBron. But he’s also chasing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. LeBron wants to be the greatest player that has ever played the game. He can’t have the 6-0 Finals record like MJ but he can become the all-time leading scorer,” Broussard said on First Things First.

This season, James is averaging 25.5 points, eight rebounds and eight assists in 34.6 minutes per game. He has played more than 41 minutes for three games in a row prior to that last to outings vs. Memphis and Denver.
