The Boston Celtics have Sacramento’s Harrison Barnes in their radar ahead of the 2021 trade deadline, according to Sam Amick of the Athletic.

Barnes is on the midst of a great season with the Sacramento Kings, averaging 16.7 points on top of a career-high 6.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game.

“Harrison Barnes is playing some of the best basketball of his career and is known to be on Boston’s radar (and likely several others).

The Celtics, as it has been widely reported, are on the lookout for ways to make good use of the $28.5 million trade exception they created in the Gordon Hayward sign-and-trade with Charlotte.

According to Amick, the Kings have no interest in trading the veteran swingman, as the franchise is trying to build a steady ground around De’Aaron Fox, who also has a career-best year in Sacramento.

The Kings are on a 12-12 record sitting just outside the playoff bracket with the No. 10 seed in the tough Western Conference.
