Montrezl Harrell, new addition for the Los Angeles Lakers during the offseason, is giving the team an energy boost off the bench. The 27-year-old forward played a key role in LA’s overtime wins against the Oklahoma City Thunder as he racked up 21 and 20 points respectively. James Worthy, who won three rings as a Laker, shared his thoughts about Harrell’s game.
“There’re some nights where the other players on the team should take a little bit of their paycheck and give it to Montrezl for what he brings to the team that not everyone can bring every night. He does,” Worthy said on Spectrum SportsNet.
“Even when he’s tired he still brings that physicality, that energy. A better post-up better player than a lot of people thought. He’s very quick first step, very fundamental, throwing the ball through, crossover moves and very good finisher at the rim. He’s another threat. Especially with AD out they’re starting to call his play a little bit more. He’s able to knock down a 15-footer. He’s a handful.”
