Patrick Beverley is one the most energetic players in the NBA. The 32-year-old point guard is vocal when he’s on and off the court. Recently, Tyron Lue, head coach of the Los Angeles Clippers, talked about Beverley’s role and what he brings to the team.

According to him, the veteran is the team’s emotional leader and keeps his teammates accountable, which is needed by the Clippers.

“He’s our emotional leader,” Lue said of Beverley, per Mirjam Swanson of The Orange County Register. “Just seeing how hard he plays and how hard he competes – and he holds guys accountable. Guys are not doing their job, he’s the first one to tell them. We definitely need that.”

This season, Beverley is averaging 7.9 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game for the Clippers that are sitting in the third place in the Western Conference behind the Utah Jazz and the Los Angeles Lakers.
