The Los Angeles Laker superstar LeBron James was not happy at all with the NBA starting the season with just a little over two months since the 2020 NBA Finals, because of little rest period. However, that does not seem to affect his performances this season.
At the age of 36, he is still playing big minutes for the Lakers. During the last three games that all went to overtime, James averaged over 42 minutes. With the absence of Anthony Davis, his load has only increased. LeBron himself says he never gets tired.
Lakers head coach Frank Vogel was asked if there is any concern that James is playing such big minutes for multiple games in a row. “Of course, there’s always concern. His body’s been feeling good. These aren’t the scripted plans to go to overtime each night get him to over 40 minutes. He’s gonna be in there in those situations to win the game.
“We’ll rest him after the game by giving him off for the media. One time he doesn’t have to do media and I’ll give him the rest necessary after tonight’s game [laughs]. Obviously, we’ll continue to evaluate how he’s feeling. His workload on a game-by-game basis and make decisions on a game-by-game basis.”
