Avery Bradley on COVID-19 diagnosis: “I was really nervous”

Avery Bradley felt relieved after recovering from the coronavirus, as the Miami Heat’s guard claimed, according to Tim Reynolds of the Associated Press.

Bradley isolated away from his family for nearly two weeks and ultimately kept them safe from catching the virus. The Heat’s veteran were among the players that decided to not participate in the NBA season restart in Orlando last season.

“I was really nervous,” Bradley said. “It’s just a blessing that no one in my household got COVID. It made me feel a lot more at ease. It was just frustrating knowing that the virus is still around. It’s been tough. It’s been tough for me and my family, but we’re getting through it. I’m happy my kids didn’t have it, my wife didn’t have it, that made me feel a lot better.

“But it was tough not being around my family for 11 days, I think it was, not being able to see them, hug my kids, hug my wife. And I’m happy that it’s all over.”

Bradley has appeared in only 10 games this season and missed time, due to the positive coronavirus test result, a bruised knee and a strained calf muscle that could keep him sidelined through early March.

The former Lakers’ guard is averaging 8.5 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.4 assists this season with the Miami Heat.
