Talen Horton-Tucker is going to be a restricted free agent the upcoming summer, and he may receive interest from several teams, according to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst.

(via Bleacher Report):

The NBA analyst claimed the Lakers’ promising guard/forward could receive a ‘Tyler Johnson poison-pill contract’, when he will enter free agency the following offseason.

Johnson signed an offer sheet with the Brooklyn Nets worth $50 million over four years as a restricted free agent back in the summer of 2016.

The Miami Heat matched the offer sheet, but Johnson did not stay with the Heat for four seasons, as Pat Riley traded him to the Phoenix Suns last year.

Horton-Tucker receives a good amount of playtime with the Lakers, who are one of the top teams in the West this season and last season’s NBA champions.

The 20-year-old guard averages 7.2 points on 47.2% shooting on 16.5 minutes per contest through 20 games in the 2020/21 season campaign.
