The Miami Heat will likely miss Meyers Leonard for the rest of the season. Leonard will undergo a shoulder injury and will remain out for the rest of the year, according to Shams Charania.

The veteran big injured his shoulder in the Heat’s Jan. 9 road win over the Washington Wizards and has missed each of the past 12 games with what has been listed as a strained left shoulder.

Before the injury, Leonard averaged 3.3 points on 42.9 percent shooting on threes and 2.3 rebounds in three games in his second season with the Heat.

Leonard finished his first season with the Heat with regular-season averages of 6.1 points 5.1 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 51 games. He signed a two-year, $19M deal with the Miami Heat the past offseason.

Kelly Olynyk and Precious Achiuwa will see their minutes going up in Leonard’s absence. In case Erik Spoelstra decides to go small, Moe Harkless and Andre Iguodala could share minutes at the ‘4’.
