Nuggets-Pistons game postponed minutes before tip-off

The Denver Nuggets-Detroit Pistons game tonight has been postponed due to an inconclusive COVID-19 test result from the Pistons, according to Shams Charania.

The inconclusive result led to additional contact tracing within the team.

As a result, the Pistons don’t have the league-required eight available players.

The Pistons were watching pregame film, preparing for the game against the Nuggets when they learned of the postponement, according to Adrian Wojnarowski.

The NBA recently made the decision to err on the side of caution and halt teams in this situation over a single test.

This is the 23rd postponed game of the season after 21 postponements in January alone.

The Pistons are scheduled to play next on Feb. 2 against the Utah Jazz and then Feb. 5 and Feb. 6 this week.

The Nuggets play next on Feb. 4 against the Los Angeles Lakers.
