The Golden State Warriors’ broadcast crew had a special guest on Saturday’s matchup in the blowout win over the Detroit Pistons.

Klay Thompson joined the NBC Sports Bay Area broadcast during the third quarter and offered his insight on Steph Curry and the possibility of breaking his 14 3-pointers single game record.

(via NBC Sports Bay Area):

“I mean that’s probably going to be broken here in the next few years,” Thompson said. “It’s up to Steph. Zach LaVine was close, but I might break it again. I don’t know. I don’t think it’s going to last that long.”

On October 29, 2018, Thompson hit 14 three-pointers finishing the game against the Bulls with 52 points. He topped Curry’s record of 13 on November 7, 2016 against the Pelicans.

While Thompson was commenting in the sidelines, Curry went off for 28 points, on 6-of-8 threes, to lead the Warriors to a blowout victory over the Pistons.

Thompson is set to miss the 2020/21 season due to a torn right Achilles tendon that concurred during the offseason, just before the Warriors’ superstar hit the floor coming back off a torn ACL injury.
