The Charlotte Hornets put an end to a two-game losing streak in the matchup against the Pacers and James Borrego praised LaMelo Ball for his performance.

The Hornets’ head coach claimed his team is at its best when Ball thrives in the game. Ball finished the contest with 16 points shooting 7-out-of-13 from the field.

He also had seven assists, six rebounds and two steals to help Charlotte split its two-game set versus the Indiana Pacers.

“He scares me, too,” Borrego said to the reporters in the post-game media session. “But I love him. I think he’s fearless. I think he’s got great confidence.

I don’t know what he’s going to do with the ball, but I’m going to continue to trust him. He’s got to make the right play, but he does play with the fearless abandonment. And that’s what makes him special.”

In the Hornets’ wins this year, Ball is averaging 13.8 points, 8.5 rebounds and 6.6 assists. Th franchise has won eight of their first 18 games this season.

“When we’ve played our best basketball this season, he’s been a part of it,” Borrego pointed out. “You guys know that. We’ve seen it. When we were in that four-game winning streak, he was a major part of it.
