Joe Ingles made history during the Utah Jazz’s victory over the Dallas Mavericks on Friday. The veteran sharpshooter passed franchise legend John Stockton and became the franchise leader in three-point makes.
Ingles has a whooping 846 in his 493rd game with the Jazz. The forward form Australia completed the milestone during the first quarter, in a sequence where he hit back-to-back threes.
Ingles is in his seventh season in the NBA, while the man he replaced atop the franchise list – John Stockton – had played in the NBA for 17 seasons having 1,504 games under his belt.
Ingles, a 40.8 percent shooter in his career, makes 2.4 threes per contest shooting a career-best 44.7 percent this season for the Jazz.
After Friday’s victory over the slumping Dallas Mavericks, Utah is on the midst of a franchise-record 11-game winning streak leading the West with a 15-4 record.
