Former number two overall draft pick Marvin Bagley III has been drawing for his performances. It is his third season in the league, but, in the eyes of many, Bagley is not living up to expectations. Buddy Hield, his teammate on the Sacramento Kings, stood up to defend the 21-year-old forward.

“Y’all need to get off of Marvin’s back, leave that man alone, he’s 21 years old,” Hield said, per James Ham of NBC Sports. “He’s just trying to prove himself to the world that he belongs in this league and it’s going to take time.

He has to get himself situated first and once he gets situated and once he gets more games under his belt, he gets more comfortable, then it’s night and day for him.”

This season, Bagley is averaging 13.4 points, 8.2 rebounds and 0.9 assists in 27 minutes per game. The Kings are currently 13th in the Western Conference with seven wins and 10 losses.
