Blake Griffin was a huge part of the Detroit Pistons’ success on Thursday night against the Los Angeles Lakers. Griffin helped the Pistons grind to another victory, the second in the last three games.

“That was Blake rested, of two years ago, healthy and with some bounce and pep in his step,” coach Dwane Casey told reporters. “That’s what we needed — we needed a jolt tonight on a back-to-back tonight. I’m really happy with the way that he played.”

The Pistons pulled away in the fourth quarter of the contest making a 16-0 run that started with a Griffin’s three. The veteran forward finished the contest with a game-high 23 points.

He also had six assists and three rebounds shooting 50% from the field and from beyond the arc. Griffin has gone through several injury issues the last couple of seasons.

He was limited to 18 games last season due to a left knee injury, after a 75-game regular season campaign during the 2018-19 season.
