Zalgiris Kaunas is already looking ahead keeping the core of the team untouched by extending Joffrey’s Lauvergne contract for two more years. The club and the French big man will continue their cooperation until 2023, per the club’s announcement.

Lauvergne is having a very productive Euroleague season so far averaging 11.6 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game. The experienced center has started all of Zalgiris’ Euroleague matches and with an average of 13.0 efficiency per game, he ranks second in the team, behind only Marius Grigonis.

Coach Schiller was very satisfied after the contract extension of Joffrey Lauvergne: “We are delighted to have Joffrey coming back. He’s a vital part of our team and our club. Jojo’s qualities on the floor are obvious, but what he shows off of it is just as important. The combination of the two is why we wanted to extend his stay in Kaunas. He identifies with the club, he’s a great teammate and putting all that next to his immense basketball skills, it makes it a no-brainer for us. The fact that he signed so early is also a good sign on its own, as it shows that he trusts the program and likes what he sees here”.
