Indiana Pacers’ Caris LeVert underwent successful surgery on Monday to treat renal cell carcinoma of his left kidney, the team announced.

No further treatment is needed, as LeVert is expected to make a full recovery and will be out indefinitely.

Further updates will be provided as needed, according to the team.

It was previously reported that LeVert will likely need six-to-eight weeks to recover, then additional time to get back in basketball shape, in hopes that he can play sometime later this season.

An MRI first revealed a small mass on his left kidney during a physical that took place prior to the completion of the four-team trade involving James Harden.

The 26-year-old recently took to Instagram in an emotional post, discussing his medical condition and sent out a heartfelt message to his former team, the Brooklyn Nets, as well as the fans.
