Domantas Sabonis exits Pacers’ game vs. Raptors with left knee injury

Domantas Sabonis could not return to the court after banging his left knee with Kyle Lowry during the Pacers’ matchup versus the Raptors Monday.

X-rays on Sabonis did not reveal structural damage, but the center from Lithuania did not get back in the court. The Pacers are planning an MRI for Tuesday morning, according to Adrian Wojnarowski.

Sabonis has had a strong start in the season, averaging 20.9 points, 12.9 rebounds and 5.8 assists per game – all career highs – this season.

The Pacers are emerging as a strong candidate to make noise in the playoffs this year, as Sabonis is shouldering most of the team’s offensive burden alongside Malcolm Brogdon.

Let’s hope this isn’t a serious injury for the Lithuanian big, who looked to be in trajectory to become an All-Star again this year.
