Marcus Georges-Hunt and Jimmer Fredette battle in China

Jimmer Fredette stunned the CBA with a 70 point game for the Shanghai Sharks, whilst Marcus Georges-Hunt scored 68 of his own.

In the game last night, the former BYU and NBA guard scored 70 points on 50% shooting from the floor. In addition to this, he almost finished with a triple-double, adding nine assists and eight rebounds in 53 minutes of play.

However, it wasn’t enough to help the Sharks defeat the Sichuan Blue Whales in double overtime, with Sichuan edging its opponents by seven points in the 136-129 victory.

Marcus Georges-Hunt scored 68 points of his own and handed the away side the victory.

The former Minnesota Timberwolves player scored only two less than Fredette but did it in less time on the floor.

His last second three point shot put the game to a second OT, one of his many in the game.

Both Fredette and Georges-Hunt have made the move to China, following struggles in the NBA.

Jimmer Fredette was a star at BYU, averaging 29 points a game in his senior season, but struggled to get things going when making it to the pros.

Following spells at the Sacramento Kings, Chicago Bulls, New Orleans Pelicans, New York Knicks, and Phoenix Suns, Jimmer made the switch overseas.

This was the third 70 point game Jimmer has scored during his first and second spell at Shanghai.

However it has been much different for 26-year-old Marcus Georges-Hunt.

The undrafted guard out of Georgia Tech was an NBA D-League All-Star in 2017 but never managed to make the cut in the NBA.

In his one season in Minnesota, he underperformed, averaging only 1.6 points, .5 rebounds, and .2 assists per game.

However, he has seemed to have found his form in China.
