In 2005, Ryan Gomes was a 2nd round pick by the Boston Celtics out of nearby Providence College. Gomes had a distinguished college career from 2001-2005, right around the same time 50 Cent was seeing major success in the music industry. The former Celtic says 50 Cent’s music inspired him so much that he wore a G-Unit shirt to his first ever NBA press conference.
