The game between the Golden State Warriors and the New York Knicks was marked with a weird occurrence of Draymond Green getting his second technical foul and subsequently ejected for yelling at James Wiseman.
Green was out of the game late in the second quarter. The Dubs ended up losing 104-119. With eight wins and seven losses, they are seventh in the Western Conference sharing the same record with the San Antonio Spurs.
After the game, Green admitted it was a strange situation getting called for technical foul for yelling at his own teammate. “I’m just a bit confused. Official can meet and make a decision on any call throughout the game, but when it’s comes to a technical that was clearly the wrong call due to an official assuming I was talking to him when in fact I wasn’t, that can’t be overturned?” he wondered per Marc J. Spears.
Wiseman was just as confused with the call. “I was trying to get a post up and he threw it early. He was like ‘catch the ball’ or something like that…I guess that’s basketball. I was confused myself…I don’t know why the ref did that. I don’t know,” the rookie said, per Anthony Slater.
Finally, the NBA issued a pool report in which the referee Ben Taylor said Green was given a technical for profanity that was deemed to be directed at the official and that the game referees did not consider rescinding the call.
